Community guidelines
Effective October 24, 2026
Crease is for thoughtful reading with people you choose. There is no public feed and no directory of people: you find friends by username and join clubs by invitation.
Be thoughtful
- Talk about books and ideas without attacking the person behind them.
- Mark likely spoilers and respect a club's reading pace.
- Share only text, recordings, quotations and personal information you have the right and permission to share.
- Use voice notes as carefully as written ones.
Not allowed
- Harassment, bullying, stalking, threats or encouraging self-harm.
- Hate or dehumanising attacks based on protected characteristics.
- Sexual exploitation, sexual content involving minors, or sexual material shared without consent.
- Sharing another person's private or contact information without permission.
- Spam, scams, malware, deceptive promotion or impersonation.
- Copyright infringement, getting around access controls, or sharing substantial parts of books without permission.
- Graphic violence, illegal content or coordinated abuse.
Safety tools
Anyone can report a note, reply, account or club, with a reason and optional detail. You can block an account from sending you friend requests and notes and from seeing your profile. Reporting doesn't block automatically; both are there so you can choose.
New text and voice notes are checked before anyone else sees them. If a check fails or can't run, the note stays visible only to its author. Moderators may reject or delete content, warn an account, restrict or end access, and keep evidence where the law requires it.
Appeals and contact
To report something or appeal a decision, write to [email protected] with your username, the approximate date and enough detail to find it. Please don't resend harmful content. We never tell the person you reported who you are.
If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services. Crease support is not an emergency service.
